LOUISE LEECH   (1926--2011)
Louise Leech made paintings, prints, sculpture, and marionettes. She attended the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and received a Bachelor of Fine Arts and Bachelor of Science in Art Education from Temple University, Philadelphia. Her work was included in group shows at the Hahn Gallery, Philadelphia, and in a two-artist show at Gallery 310, York, Pennsylvania, both in 1979. In the 1960s, 70s and 80s she exhibited in Philadelphia with the Rittenhouse Square and Artist Equity exhibitions, including EquityÕs bicentennial show at the Philadelphia Museum of Art in 1976. LeechÕs work was shown with that of her daughter, Gwyneth Leech, at the Philadelphia Art Alliance, 1988, and in Families/Cities SHIFT at the Susan Teller Gallery, April 5 through May 11, 2013. It is in the permanent collection of the Free Library of Philadelphia.
