ISAMI DOI (1903-1965)Hawaii-born Isami Doi attended Columbia Unveristy Teachers College where he worked with Albert Heckman. Under the New Deal he made wood engravings for the New York City WPA Printmaking Project. He returned to Hawaii in 1946. His later work featured paintings of island landscapes and highly innovative jewelry.
