MARGARET LOWENGRUND (1902-1957)Margaret Lowengrund, artist and master printer, was the innovative founder of The Contemporaries, a joint print workshop and related exhibition gallery, in 1951. The Contemporaries merged with Pratt Institute in 1956 creating the Pratt Graphic Art Center. Her career is the subject of the exhibition 'A Model Workshop: Margaret Lowengrund and The Contemporaries,' at the Print Center New York, from September 22 through December 23, 2023.
