LOUIS LOZOWICK   (1892-1973)
Lozowick was born in the Ukraine (then part of the Russian Empire). HIs parnets moved to Kyiv when he was young, and he attended Kyiv Art School before he immigrated to this country, where he studied at the National Academy of Design (New York) and Ohio State University. As a young artist he traveled in Europe and encountered modernist art movements. Living in New Jersey and working there or in New York City he made paintings, drawings, and prints in a precisionist manner while never forgetting the humanity of his figures.
